Ideas for Residents
Will has had his thinking cap on for ideas that can involve residents of Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea and Trusthorpe ....
Enter all the local radio phone in competitions!
When the presenter says "And here we have Jean (or John or whoever) from Mablethorpe, what's it like your way today?" ... take every opportunity to praise the town, the good weather we get, the miles of golden sands etc etc.
Carry a supply of 'doggy-do' bags
If you see someone allowing their dog to foul and they make no attempt to clear it up, politely offer them a free bag. These are available from the Mablethorpe Library and Community Access Centre in Stanley Avenue.
Smile and say 'Hi' while you are waiting ...
Whether it's in the post office or checkout queue, waiting for the green man at the pedestrian crossing or your turn at the bar, cheer someone up by saying something positive. If you're too shy or are wary of talking to people you don't know, use the time to recall a happy memory that puts a smile on your face - much better for us all than moaning (which never makes the queue go down quicker anyway!)
Make Mablethorpe Bloom
Add an extra hanging basket or window box to your property this summer.
Make a Healthy Pledge
By being a healthier community we place less strain on local services such as the doctors, clinics, etc which might well help others to be seen more quickly. So if you've been thinking about giving up smoking or taking up a sport, make it a pledge.
